Queen's Square, Rawtenstall, Rossendale BB4 6QU, UK – 01706 227911
One of the finest local history collections in the North, I think.
Giving 4 stars as without this Library there would be none, however kit is very outdated and one would think as it is the only local library that the council etc would invest , computers are not that expensive nowadays! In comparison to what exists here.....
Deardengate, Haslingden, Rossendale BB4 5QJ, UK – 0300 123 6703
Great staff who are both friendly and helpful. The resources are drawn from the whole of Lancashire.
Probably one of the best library in Lancashire and a clear example of a 21st century public place for everything from selection of books, free computer usage to activities organised and led by Haslingden Library staff. Staff are outstanding and very helpful. Activities range from Baby Bounce, Toddler Rhyme, Writers Group, Lego Club and many many more for all ages; young and old. There are also rooms to hire for meetings. Community history facility is upstairs with a wide collection of local historical sources of Haslingden and Helmshore. The Multi-Space room also caters for a Haslingden Headspace (a youth provision for 11 to 19 year olds) and Young Peoples' Service which regularly meet during evenings. A car park facility is also provided.
